# Step 1: Create and configure the app

Through this step, you will create an app and enable the necessary permissions for subsequent OpenAPI calls. It is recommended that you create a new enterprise and create the app and add permissions in the new enterprise to achieve permission exemption.  

## Procedure

1. Log in to [Developer Console](https://open.feishu.cn/app).

2. On the home page, click **Create Custom App**, fill in the app name, description, and icon information, and click **Create**.

7. Enable the required API permissions for the app to call interfaces.
   In this tutorial, the Base OpenAPI used requires **View, Comment, Edit, and Manage Base** permissions or the corresponding granular permissions for each interface. You can find the required permissions in the API documentation. The APIs called in this tutorial refer to the [Used OpenAPI List](https://open.feishu.cn/document/home/quick-access-to-base/preparation).

This step will enable both **App Identity Permissions** and **User Identity Permissions** for **View, Comment, Edit, and Manage Base**.
   - If the business requires operating Base resources as an app identity, such as **Creating a Base in the app's document directory space**, then **App Identity Permissions** need to be applied for.
   - If the business logic requires operating user data resources as a user identity, such as **Creating a Base in the user's document directory space**, then **User Identity Permissions** need to be applied for.
    1. In the app details page, click **Permission Management** in the left navigation bar.

2. On the **Permission Management** page, click **Enable Permissions**.

3. In the **Enable Permissions** window, search for **bitable:app**, check the permissions under **App Identity Permissions** and **User Identity Permissions**, then click **Confirm Enable Permissions**.
