# Step 2: Create custom approval

In this step, you will create a custom approval instance named **Paid** **Leave Approval** to initiate paid leave approval.

## Procedure

1. Log in to the [Approval Admin Console](https://www.feishu.cn/approval/admin).

3. On the URL in the browser address bar, add the parameter `devMode=on` to enable the developer mode.

You must enable developer mode to set a custom ID for the control later.

3. Select **Approval Admin**, click **Create Approval**, and select **+Create custom approval**.

4. On the **Basic Info** page, fill in the **Name** of the approval process.

5. On the **Form Design** page, add the **Date Range** component, and set **Custom ID** to `timeInfo`, **Date Format** to **yyyy-MM-dd AM/PM (day)** .

6. On the **Form Design** page, add a **Paragraph** component, and set **Custom ID** to `reason`.

7. On the **Process Design** page, click the **Approver** node to set the process to approve automatically.

8. When the process design is complete, click **Publish**.
